Extremely important to all of the
above as well as new economic development is the Aquidneck Island Broadband
Project.
Challenges to Economic Development
The major challenges to economic
development include an aging population, which may be resistant to change, and
the lack of affordable housing, which would encourage business and industry to
locate here.
Middletown’s Comprehensive Plan is
based on a balance of the various aspects of the community.
